Do you have expertise in Mazak machines and the ability to work in a precision engineering environment? If so, this late shift role offers a competitive salary with a shift allowance (time and a third) and the chance to work with a highly skilled team. The Role As a CNC Turner Setter/Operator, you will play a crucial role in the Turning Department, ensuring the efficient and precise production of high-quality components. Your responsibilities will include: * Setting and operating Mazak CNC turning machines to produce precision-engineered parts * Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate machining * Modifying and editing CNC programs to adjust for materials, tooling, or machining conditions * Programming online and offline, ensuring optimal efficiency and accuracy * Operating Fanuc controls and making necessary program and tooling adjustments * Conducting in-process inspections to maintain strict quality standards * Hand-finishing components (de-burring) and performing final quality checks * Performing basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, oiling, and coolant management * Logging work and completing route cards, ensuring accurate documentation * Working closely with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines * Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality What We’re Looking For We are seeking a CNC Turner Setter/Operator who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player. The ideal candidate will have: * At least five years’ experience in a CNC turning setter/operator role * Experience working with Mazak CNC machines (essential) * Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and Fanuc controls * The ability to read, interpret, and communicate technical drawings and specifications * Experience programming both online and offline * Excellent attention to detail, ensuring work meets the highest quality standards * The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy * Good written and verbal communication skills, with PC fluency for logging work * A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and process improvement What’s On Offer * Competitive hourly rate of £16.00 – £19.00 per hour, depending on experience * Shift allowance (time and a third) for late shift work * 40-hour week with an early finish on Fridays * 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays * Employee Referral Scheme * People’s Pension Scheme * The opportunity to work with cutting-edge CNC machinery in a precision engineering environment This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected engineering company that values skill, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
