The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
We are seeking a SHES Specialist to ensure efficient planning and execution of team tasks, optimising resource use and timely delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will combine key knowledge with excellent communication skills, take ownership of specialist services, and deliver a trusted, quality experience. They will promote a positive safety culture, solve complex issues with practical solutions, and demonstrate Cadent Values. Additionally, they will use their expertise to guide strategy, provide exceptional customer service, and foster an inclusive environment., + Risk & Compliance Management: Review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements, support CDM Risk Register management, and ensure compliance with Cadent procedures.

Training & Competence: Assist in reviewing contractor competence, identify training needs, and monitor training delivery and records.

Incident Management: Report and investigate SHE events, incidents, and accidents, and support incident investigations as required.

Inspection & Monitoring: Conduct inspections, manage findings, and monitor contractor records and temporary works inspections.

Safety Culture & Legislation: Promote a safety-conscious culture, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and standards, and support health and wellbeing programs.

NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health and Safety qualification (essential).

HNC or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, or Occupational Health and Safety (essential).

NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management (desirable).

ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor training (desirable).

Valid UK Driving License (essential).
Practical Experience:

Experience managing SHES in construction, engineering, or utilities industries.

Knowledge of SHES legislation (CDM 2015, RIDDOR, COSHH, environmental regulations) and compliance.

Ability to assess and evaluate SHES performance metrics and provide actionable insights.

Experience in risk management, including hazard identification and incident investigation.

Skilled in site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.

Collaborative experience with contractors, project teams, and stakeholders.

Ability to deliver training sessions and toolbox talks.

Familiarity with managing SHE-related documents.

Strong interpersonal skills for influencing and coaching teams.

Experience supporting mental health and wellbeing programs.

Proficiency in SHES-related software and systems.
