We’re looking for 1 Project Managers to join our Boots Opticians Function on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract. This role will be based at our Nottingham Support Office, 5 days per week. This is an exciting role as you will be working on some of the biggest projects that this function has taken on, allowing you to help shape the heart of Opticians for the upcoming years!, As a Project Manager, you’ll lead high-impact projects within Opticians Customer & Commercial teams through the project lifecycle from inception to delivery. You’ll work closely with other Opticians teams and will engage with shared teams in the Boots business. We’ll also need you to have relevant experience in project management and/or delivering business change and the ability to manage matrix teams.

  • Project management – Leadership of large-scale complex projects that are critical to Customer & Commercial team goals through the full project lifecycle (inception, planning, delivery, monitoring & controlling & closure)

  • Risk & issue management – Anticipate potential risks and issues, developing contingency plans to avoid them. Monitor project progress closely, taking proactive measures to address any deviations from the plan.

  • Financial management – Manage project budgets, ensuring financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle. Track expenditures, forecast costs, and implement cost-saving measures.

  • Quality assurance & governance – Ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality. Implement governance frameworks that monitor project delivery and identify issues & risks

  • Project closure & evaluation – Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of project outcomes. Prepare and support teams and stakeholders in adapting to changes resulting from project implementation.

  • Continuous improvement – Drive improvement in project management practices.

  • Continuous improvement of Customer and Commercial colleagues project management capabilities through knowledge sharing.

  • Experience managing large, complex projects with business impact (or relevant other experience).

  • Knowledge of best practice project methodologies and ideally with relevant qualifications (e.g., Prince2, Agile).

  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.

  • Excellent communication and able to manage stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Highly organised and detail oriented.

  • Decisive in making complex decisions.
