The Harold Pinter Theatre opened in 1881 as the Royal Comedy Theatre and staged hugely successful shows, such as The Rocky Horror Show’s West End debut. Our name changed in 2011 to The Harold Pinter Theatre in honour of Pinter’s work for the Comedy Theatre. The range of works presented at the Pinter has been far-reaching; plays, melodrama, comedy, revivals, musicals, experimental theatre, Hindu Dance, and Shakespeare. The theatre has played host to countless well-known faces; Judi Dench, Alan Bennett, Damian Lewis, Ian McKellen, and Vanessa Redgrave, to name just a few of the thousands of actors who have graced our stage.
