A growing, successful and well-established family run Educational Supplies business is looking to hire an experienced Warehouse Supervisor at their Chelmsford Distribution Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to join a key company in the educational supplies sector that has been at the forefront of the industry for over 50 years. With a client base that exceeds 2,200 schools across the South East, the company is focused on continuing to strengthen their product offering which already spans over 15,000 products as well as optimising procurement operations and fostering innovation in product development.

The Role
As Warehouse Supervisor you would be responsible for organizing and managing warehouse operations, ensuring accurate tracking of goods, coordinating transport and deliveries, and enforcing health and safety regulations. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a team of warehouse staff, conducting performance evaluations and providing coaching and guidance
- Coordinating daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, order fulfilment
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Monitoring and analysing warehouse performance metrics
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment
Required Experience
Previous supervisory/management experience working in a warehouse with a comprehensive understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management and shipping and receiving procedures, able to demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with a dedicated focus on achieving results and meeting deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

- Strong time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
- Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy
- A willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required
- A valid forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
