Location: Telford
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:45am till 5pm (37.5 hrs)
Package: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience), 25 days annual leave + stats, contributory pension scheme, private healthcare, performance-based bonus.
The Client: We are working with a leading global manufacturing business in the Telford area who have experienced continual growth over the last decade. They have an opening for a Purchasing Manager to join the business as part of the Management team and lead and develop the site procurement function. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all aspects of procurement and purchasing for all goods, materials and services whilst maintaining a focus on meeting the organisation's sustainability objectives. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Procurement Professional to join an expanding and innovative business with an exceptional reputation in their field.
The Role:
- Effectively manage the procurement and purchasing of all direct and indirect commodities for a busy, fast-paced manufacturing facility.
- Ensure stock levels are managed effectively within company objectives.
- Manage contracted services to site such as waste, energy and other services.
- Ensure demand forecasts are accurate and actioned.
- Effectively manage the supplier portfolio from sourcing and tender management through to supplier development and performance management.
- Ensure all supplier contract negotiations and approvals are in-line with wider objectives and effectively manage the renewal process.
- Effectively utilise the supplier portal.
- Support with ERP implementation and usage.
- Drive cost savings and benchmarking activity.
- Ensure members of the purchasing team are effectively managed.
The Person:
- Strong experience of and knowledge of Purchasing, Procurement and Supply Chain activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience of overseeing direct and indirect categories.
- Experience of working closely with international partners.
- Strong knowledge of Procurement processes and strategic development.
- Previous experience in roles such as Purchasing Manager / Procurement Manager / Supply Chain Manager / Senior Buyer / Purchasing Supervisor.
- Experience with Supplier portal systems.
- ERP Knowledge and experience as well as excellent knowledge of MS Excel.
- Previous experience in leading a small team would be ideal.
