Job Summary
The discipline of Account Management exists to create an environment for great work to thrive. Account Management sets the tone, pace and means of working. Account people have to weigh and balance client needs with agency ambitions to determine the vision and then make sure everyone is clear on that vision and how to get there. Despite the title, Account Management doesn’t manage accounts; they ultimately drive businesses.
The Account Manager’s focus is to drive the work forward with flawless execution. Depending on the structure of the team, the Account Manager may also need to be the primary support for the functions and tasks of a team within an agency.
Essential Functions
- Lead small- and mid-sized projects from start to finish and be seen as the client go-to on a project basis
- Ensure account logistics are flawlessly managed, from schedules to budgets and client deliverables
- Anticipate needs and provide proactive solutions that keep us one step ahead
- Ensure the team stays on top of and informed on contextual, competitive and business landscapes – filter industry news and provide insights that could influence the work and help the entire team be smarter
- Offer a sound, strategic POV on projects
- Cultivate a relationship with key day-to-day clients
- Work with the Account Director or Senior Account Director to ensure key projects / tasks have clear objectives, aligned owners and timings and then execute against those tasks and objectives
- Support the Account Director or Senior Account Director on larger-scale productions while also learning and gaining experience along the way
- Ensure legal and Clearcast review
Qualifications
- 1-2 years experience at a creative advertising agency
- Familiarity with accounting/math principles
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
