My client, a leading independent clinical testing laboratory based in Chiswick, are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Junior Biomedical Scientist to join their team. You will be working within a busy & friendly team providing exceptional diagnostic support to Biomedical Scientists and providing a professional effective pathology laboratory service. This is a full-time permanent role.
Duties will include:

Specimen reception management duties, including accurately labelling, sorting, preparing and sending away samples as required.

Data entry using the laboratory information systems (LIMS).

Pre-analytical processing of samples.

Preparing reagents and managing consumables.

Monitoring the temperature of fridges and freezers.

Laboratory stock control and ordering when required.

Daily decontamination and cleaning of laboratory equipment and work areas.

Disposing of chemical and biological waste.

Filing records.

Answering telephone enquiries professionally.

Upholding the values of mission of our B corporation certification by actively participating in and contributing to our sustainability and social impact initiatives.

Reporting a resulting after training.

Running EQA samples.

At least one year post HCPC registration experience in blood sciences is essential

PCR experience is preferred

Registration as a Biomedical Scientist with a health and care professional professions Council (HCPC)

Completed an IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science degree fulfilling the requirements of HCPC registration

Demonstrable technical skills and pathology disciplines and the use of laboratory information systems
