Evelyn Partners manages over £60bn of institutional and private client investment portfolios. These portfolios are supported by several third-party analytics vendors including Morningstar, Bloomberg, FactSet etc. As part of ongoing process improvement, Evelyn Partners is looking to enhance the access to and delivery of critical portfolio analytics for decision-makers. These analytics include exposure, performance, risk and related data sets. The Associate Portfolio Analyst’s purpose is to improve investment decision-making through the provision of better information.

What you will be doing

Working within the newly created Portfolio Analytics team, the Associate, Portfolio Analytics will support the Director, Portfolio Analytics in setting up and being responsible for the BAU production of portfolio analytics in conjunction with other teams. The role will interface directly with investment decision-makers and related teams to identify and interpret the key investment drivers. The role will also support the project work to create more streamlined and automated workflows. Close collaboration with other teams including central investment teams, strategy and risk teams will be essential. There is opportunity for ad-hoc analytical work using the third-party systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate portfolio analytics reports for central investment propositions from internal and external systems
  • Ensure analytics content describes multiple perspectives on portfolio exposure, performance and risk
  • Provide interpretation and narrative on the key drivers of investment outcomes
  • Work closely with Investment decision makers to explore and understand these key drivers
  • Support portfolio construction as needed
  • Support generation of client facing materials as needed
  • Ad hoc project work and analysis as needed
  • Assist with designing workflows and specifying data analytics to be sourced from third party analytics vendors.
  • Assist with process controls and quality assurance over the above.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Finance Related and / or quantitative subject.
  • CFA / FRM / CIPM helpful but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good written and face-to-face communications skills
  • Able to work well autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Experience of third-party portfolio analytics systems (Morningstar, Bloomberg, Factset etc) would be helpful.
  • Experience of running and improving BAU processes for portfolio analytics would be helpful.
  • Knowledge of investments and investment strategies is important
  • Experience in an asset management, wealth management or consulting role would be helpful
