About the Role:
The Director, Directs Procurement – Cross BU-EMEA has an annual spend accountability of up to ~£400m (including raw materials, packaging). This role is responsible for leadership of the Procurement buying teams in the EMEA region for manufacturing-related categories of spend (Directs – raw and packaging materials under the scope of regional teams) and is accountable for the quality, service/supply risk of such materials procured for EMEA sites. The Director, Directs Procurement – Cross-BU will partner with the global directs procurement team & other cross-functional stakeholders like EMEA QSC/Sites and Value engineering, Sustainability team to drive the strategy. The role will focus on savings delivery using multiple sourcing levers, with increased focus on Value Engineering and complexity reduction. The geographic scope of the role is EMEA with an organization of ~11 resources including staff based in the EMEA region and support for up to 10 Haleon sites. The role will also provide support for materials bought for CMOs. This is a high impact, high complexity role with significant scope that spans across multiple categories and suppliers.
In this role you will:
- Drive the creation, execution and management of comprehensive sourcing strategies for spend categories, in a matrix approach with Global Categories.
- Collaborate and align with other Procurement leaders and teams within the region and/or globally to understand and adopt best practices.
- Strategically engage with and understand the business requirements of stakeholders and business partners.
- Ensure Haleon Procurement policies, procedures, processes, systems and methodologies are utilized in a compliant manner.
- Accountable for the quality, service/supply risk and cost of all materials and services for the EMEA manufacturing sites and business units.
- Accountable for creating and implementing Procurement strategies and initiatives which improve quality and service/supply risk and deliver significant cost savings.
- Accountable for ensuring contract coverage for local or regionally owned spend.
- Lead, manage and develop a team of professional sourcing staff, located in multiple countries.
Qualifications and skills
Essential:
- Significant (10+ years) professional Procurement experience in a comparable large, complex company preferably FMCG company.
- Past experience of Raw, Packaging material procurement (either or both).
- Significant team management and senior stakeholder management experience.
- Strong capability to execute; this is core to the role.
- Strong stakeholder management and strategic influencing skills.
- Contracting experience required, including a thorough understanding of contracting fundamentals.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in relevant fields.
