Lead Consultant / Architect – Mobile Communication Systems

About the Role:
We are seeking candidates at a Senior Technical Architect / Lead / Consultant level to take a part in key roles within the design, delivery, and assurance of large-scale mobile communication and control room systems. This position requires both strong technical expertise and strategic leadership, ensuring successful programme execution while engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
Depending on seniority, the role may lean more towards technical hands-on work (architecture and assurance) or high-level leadership (programme oversight, stakeholder engagement, and strategic direction).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, architecture, and assurance of complex mobile communication networks.
- Oversee programme delivery, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Engage with stakeholders to capture and define User Requirements, User Journeys, and User Experience (UI/UX).
- Specify technical requirements and specifications.
- Provide technical expertise to support system procurements and outcomes, assisting specification, evaluation and award criteria.
- Provide technical assurance and governance across large-scale deployments.
- Stay at the forefront of mobile communications technology trends and standards.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Mission Critical Communications (MCx).
- 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Standards.
- Radio Communications standards and protocols.
- Long-Term Evolution (LTE).
- 5G / 5G NR.
- Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA).
- Control Room Suppliers and Procurement of Suppliers Products.
Security Clearance:
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must already hold or be willing to undergo Security Clearance (SC) and potentially other levels of vetting.
