Network Engineer, Cisco CML

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cisco Modeling Labs (CML) Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and operational support for CML in a non-production environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in network simulation, troubleshooting, and optimizing virtualized network infrastructures. This role focuses on maintaining a stable, efficient, and scalable CML environment to support testing, training, and development activities., Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco CML in a non-production environment.

Provide technical support for users leveraging CML for network simulations and testing.

Troubleshoot software, configuration, and connectivity issues within the CML platform.

Optimize system performance and ensure the availability of virtualized network resources.

Assist in software updates, patch management, and version control of CML instances.

Document system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.

Collaborate with network engineers, developers, and support teams to enhance CML usability.

Conduct training sessions or create instructional materials for CML users.

Monitor system health, resource utilization, and proactively address potential issues.

Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts, including routing, switching, and virtualization.

Hands-on experience with Cisco CML or similar network simulation tools (eg, GNS3, EVE-NG).

Proficiency in Linux, virtualization technologies, and containerized environments.

Familiarity with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and other Cisco operating systems.

Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity and virtual machine performance issues.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE) are a plus.

Scripting and automation experience (Python, Ansible) for network management.

Familiarity with cloud-based networking and infrastructure-as-code principles.
