Senior Public Realm Engineer
London
6-month contract
£38 – £45 per hour, inside IR35
Are you an experienced Senior Public Realm Engineer looking for a new challenge?
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Public Realm Engineer, with experience in Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes (SuDS), greening the grey, and area-based improvement projects to join a busy client in London. This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £38 – £45 per hour. Flexible working arrangements are available.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the engineering and project management required to go from conception, design, and to delivery on individual projects (including SuDS) or incorporated into larger schemes.
- To have a proven track record in managing the design and delivery of projects.
- To lead the development of SuDS and greening works across the borough liaising with both internal and external asset owners and key stakeholders.
- To lead on writing funding bids to secure external funding for projects.
- To manage individual project budgets, assessment of all contractor claims, reviewing external funding streams, and producing monthly monitoring reports for the Service Manager and Assistant Director and Finance.
- To ensure compliance with current legislation relevant to the Team’s service including codes of practices, Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2014, Road Traffic Regulations 1984, Flood Water Management Act 2010, and Town and Country Planning Act 1990 including required codes of practice and statutory instruments where applicable to the role.
- To ensure the delivery of effective engagement and consultation on projects, taking a lead role in communication with members, the public, and other stakeholders including attending site, resident, and stakeholder meetings.
- To manage community-based greening and SuDS projects working closely with communities and businesses to ensure outcomes are met.
- To manage the contractors, staff, and consultants in the delivery of projects and management of the team.
About You:
Previous experience in Public Realm schemes and AutoCAD is essential for this role.
