About the role

CIBSE is looking for a driven and creative Events Marketing Executive to deliver impactful marketing campaigns that align with our growth objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across CIBSE’s event portfolio, including conferences, exhibitions, and awards. You will use a full range of marketing channels—including email, social media, and paid advertising—to attract new attendees, engage partners, nurture leads and foster relationships with stakeholders. This is a chance to take ownership of end-to-end campaign activities and make a direct impact on the success of our events.

What you will do

  • Plan, organise, and execute marketing campaigns for CIBSE’s events to drive registrations and engagement.
  • Work closely with delegates, partners, and internal stakeholders to strengthen relationships and enhance the attendee experience.
  • Track, measure, and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gathering insights to continuously improve and optimise strategies.
  • Develop and maintain content across CIBSE’s digital platforms, including the website, social media, blog, and email channels.
  • Oversee CIBSE’s presence at external events, managing logistics such as ordering display materials and coordinating booth design.
  • Represent CIBSE at external events, ensuring objectives are achieved by engaging with attendees, encouraging participation at stands, and facilitating introductions where needed to build relationships and maximize opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to provide marketing support for event promotion as needed.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform other related tasks to meet the overall business objectives of the Institution.

What you will need to be successful

  • Proven experience in event marketing, preferably within a technical, engineering, or B2B environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with attendees at events, encourage participation, and build meaningful connections.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns with measurable results.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • A solid understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, including social media, email marketing, SEO, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (Salesforce preferable) and marketing software (Pardot preferable).
  • A proactive and collaborative attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
