Tendering Engineer – Electrical distribution/Power Distribution Package – £30,000 – £35,000 per annumLocation – Telford (office based)CompanyA leading UK-based manufacturer and assembler of power distribution switchgear solutions, serving clients across utilities, infrastructure, commercial, and industrial sectors. Due to company growth, they are looking for a skilled Tendering Engineer to join our dynamic team and support their commercial and technical bidding operations.Role As a Tendering Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing detailed and competitive technical and commercial proposals for low and medium voltage switchgear projects. You will work closely with internal engineering, sales, and project management teams to develop bids that meet customer requirements and industry standards. Updating company software to record and update quotations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage tenders and quotations for LV/MV switchgear and associated equipmentInterpret technical specifications, drawings, and scope documents to develop accurate proposalsLiaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to gather all necessary information for tendersPerform cost analysis and ensure commercial viability of each tenderEnsure all proposals comply with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirementsSupport post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teamsThe ideal applicantIt is advantageous if you come from a Tender Engineering background with knowledge of the LV Switchgear industry, but consideration will be given to ex field engineers from an install or maintenance perspective of power distribution products, or maybe from assembly from manufacturers or from technical support from electrical wholesalers. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required, as well as building successful customer relationships.
