The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We’re beginning an exciting period of growth in the Design and Innovation team, with a growing portfolio of impactful products and services to deliver over the coming years. Our new research strategy brings a pipeline of new challenges and ideas, leading to corporate partnerships and new opportunities in our design consultancy business.

You’ll be joining a high performing team of inclusive design experts, and you’ll be supported throughout your journey by an experienced leadership team, so you will have guidance as you develop and implement projects that make a genuine impact.

You will have a passion for inclusive design engineering and be driven by achieving excellence in your work, living and breathing the Designability behaviours every day; Reflective, Tenacious, collaborative, Curious and Honest., * Work within multidisciplinary team (researchers, engineers, designers) on new product development projects, externally funded design challenges and consultancy projects.

  • Create innovative and inspiring product design solutions using; sketching, 2D illustration (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchBook, Figma), concept models, 3D design (e.g. SolidWorks or similar) and prototyping, including digital user interface design (e.g. paper prototyping, Invision, Adobe XD or similar).

  • Develop 3D designs into fully working prototypes.

  • Support design/user research to help understand the needs and aspirations of a range of users and stakeholders, in the context of a specific challenge or problem.

  • Undertake product testing, taking into consideration the needs of disabled participants, including contributing towards planning and risk assessments.

  • Work with project partners and members of the public to facilitate design reviews, and to test and evaluate product designs, user interfaces and prototypes.

  • Work to project timescales, plans, schedules and budget – helping to create and manage these where required.

  • Create design assets and contribute to the creation of design books, visuals for technical reports and thought leadership outputs.
