About the role

To manage the Corporate Accounting team ensuring all aspects of reporting and processing are operating effectively. To act as a point of contact for other teams within the organisation, including reporting to the CFO.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  1. Management of team of 10 with 6 direct reports, indirect oversight of the global finance team
  2. Involvement with the ongoing IPO process and responsibility for ensuring processes and controls are put in place that are appropriate for a listed entity
  3. Overall responsibility for the following reporting:
  1. Monthly management accounts
  2. Quarterly Board reporting
  3. Interim reporting
  4. Annual financial statements preparation
  • Oversight of the annual audit from engagement through sign off, ensuring the team complies with deadlines
  • Involvement in the annual budget process including coordination of the UK corporate budget and subsidiary review
  • Day to day management of routine processes and procedures including treasury and FX
  • Global tax oversight including TP / VAT/ Global consolidation etc including regular interaction with third party advisors
  • IT and finance supplier oversight
  • Training – both intra and inter team i.e. FX, VAT, SUITE (internal ERP system), Data management
  • Involvement in various projects to improve day to day workflows including:
    1. Regular interaction with the IT development team to guide improvements in internal treasury and financial systems
    2. Designing reports to aid day to day workflow
    3. Alignment of controls and processes for overseas entities
    4. Onboarding new third party providers where necessary
  • Resolution of regular ad hoc issues faced by a multi-national organisation
  • Preparation of various ad hoc finance presentations and reports throughout the year
  • Contribution to maintenance of full trial balance of a dynamic trading entity
  • Liaising with other areas of the company including front office, operations, and trade finance to resolve problems.
  • System and control oversight and improvement.
  • To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals.
  • To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role.
  • To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures.
  • To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your Manager.

  • About you

    We are looking for someone with the following skillset and attributes:

    Essential:

    1. ACA trained from practice with 10 years plus PQE.
    2. Experience working in a listed company environment
    3. Experience of group accounting and IFRS
    4. Proven experience of managing a team.
    5. Ability to form relationships within finance team, IT teams and wider office to ensure positive collaborative working environment.
    6. Ability to manage numerous requirements and prioritising critical, along with keeping relevant stakeholders well informed on tasks.
    7. Strong general computer/IT and system skills.
    8. Advanced Excel skills.
    9. Good PowerPoint and Word skills.
    10. Excellent communication skills to facilitate relationships with key internal and external business partners.

    1. SUN Systems accounting software and Infor Q&A / Vision.
    2. Previous exposure to multi-currency entities.
