2020 Recruitment is delighted to be working with a global leader in serving industries such as Oil & Gas and more who are looking for a Engineering Estimator to join their team. Based in Ayrshire you will be working within the Sales Team providing quotes to new and existing contracts brought in by the Business Development Team. This position is an ideal role for someone with CNC experience to move into an Estimator position or someone with shop floor experience that can understand the hours required to manufacture products although this is not essential. *Not the job for you? Get in touch to learn more* The Role As the Engineering Estimator you will be required to work from customer drawings and specifications to compile a cost and technically compliant competitive bid to the customer. As the key point of contact for your nominated accounts, you will also be responsible for continuing to build positive and proactive working relationships between the business and those customers. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain and improve customer relationships by conveying their needs and expectations to the relevant areas within the business, ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained. * Support diversification activities into new customers and markets. * Submit quotations in a timely manner ensuring that the customer’s RFQ requirements have been fully complied with and that any exceptions/caveats have been fully identified in the responding Quotation. * Liaise with Internal departments across multiple sites to ensure effective bid construction. * Support the Sales Manager in monitoring and developing an efficient and effective Sales & Commercial Department to deliver accurate and timely bids. * Monitor performance of accounts through use of key metrics to provide drive and direction. * Conduct thorough Technical Contract Reviews of Customer Purchase Orders against original quotations ensuring any differences are resolved and documented prior to release. Requirements To be considered for the Engineering Estimator role it is essential that you meet the following requirements: * Previous experience within the manufacturing industry, in particular an understanding of the CNC process. * Ability to work with other departments, shop floor and customers. * Previous experience on the shop floor. * Understanding drawings. * Ability to create cost and time quotes. * You must have the right to work in the UK and be within a commutable distance to Ayrshire.
