Job Details:
Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 per annum (Pro-rata)
Contract: Substantive
Hours: Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5)
On call: Frequency 1:14 Category A – 3% on call supplement
Location: George Turle House, 54 London Road, Canterbury, CT2 8JY
Qualifications needed:
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- CCT or equivalent
- Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
- Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
- Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
Main Duties of the Job:
You will be expected to:
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Kent.
- Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
- Work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.
- Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:14, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement.
- Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.
- Work alongside a 0.6wte Specialty Doctor.
- Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.

Qualifications
Essential
- CCT or equivalent
- Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it. Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it. Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
Desirable
- Masters or Doctorate degree. A management qualification. ECDL or equivalent qualification. Experience in strategic development
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders under children including neurodevelopment disorders
- Experience in managing patients from different cultural backgrounds. Working with interpreters and translators.
Knowledge
Essential
- Extensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, and social determinants of mental health disorders and evidence-based management interventions.
- Up to date knowledge of recent DH documentation and NICE Guidelines
Desirable
- An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF, and clinical governance priorities
Clinical Skills
Essential
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Familiarity with a wide range of theoretical and clinical approaches. Ability to provide medical leadership to the multidisciplinary team and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
