NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
This is a Permanent position. The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Thurs 9-5 and Fri 9-4.30.
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.)
We are looking for a Cardiographer to join our team at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Some previous healthcare experience is required. NHSGGC serves the largest catchment population in Scotland, with South Sector hospitals serving more than half of this with a cardiac physiology workforce of 58 WTE. The QEUH is the biggest acute hospital in the country.
Over 29,500 ECGs, over 2,700 Ambulatory Monitors, on both inpatients and outpatients, are fitted and downloaded annually. Over 1,900 Exercise Tolerance Tests (ETT) are performed within the department on an annual basis. The role is varied and involves performing 12 lead ECG recordings as well as fitting a range of ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitors. The department promotes ongoing training and development for all staff and would be supportive of further training in ECG interpretation for the person appointed.
