Job description Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Highways Permanent Manchester Based – With Travel Salary Circa £40k + Car Allowance We have a very exciting opportuntiy for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor working within the Highways sector, based in Manchester but with UK Travel. Responsibilities * Assist in cost control by monitoring project budgets and expenditures. * Prepare and analyze cost estimates for construction projects. * Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure financial efficiency. * Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify costs. * Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and documentation. * Support the senior quantity surveyor in preparing tender documents and contracts. Qualifications * Strong understanding of cost control principles * Ability to analyze and manage project budgets * Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Attention to detail and strong analytical skills * Relevant degree or certification in quantity surveying or construction management is preferred Start People ltd is acting as an employment agency in relation to this role
