Director, Strategic Operations, Clinical Data Management

The Director Strategic Operations is the link between key customer and IQVIA.
In this role he/she will oversee the consistency of global operational excellence delivered across all Product Development contracts. This will also encompass virtual financial responsibility and process/performance optimization. The role holder will direct and mobilize global IQVIA resources to achieve customer goals and IQVIA strategic customer intent.
Responsibilities
- Client engagement
- Oversight of Data transfers, liaison for customer transfer issues, concerns and requirements change
- Through close engagement with the client and based on the client’s needs, identifies opportunities and co-creates/leads solution strategies with the client and the IQVIA teams to provide innovation and value add offerings from the IQVIA spectrum and beyond
- Maintains and expands strong professional relationships across the client organization – especially within their clinical delivery and patient centricity teams
- Data quality issues (discrepancy reports) follow-up and resolution along with other data cleaning reports
- Collaboration and engagement within IQVIA
- Management of CTMS access for Account Staff and other reporting questions
- Design and implementation of Clinical Analytics reports
- Follow-up and oversight on sharing validation packets for used systems
- Design, Development, implementation of Customer Tenant for forward data sharing
- Working with IT to develop a long-term quality system for CTMS data entry
- Works closely together with IQVIA delivery teams to identify potential gaps in the design of the client’s clinical trials and identifies stakeholders who can support
- Partners with the delivery teams to identify and resolve process areas/trends impacting delivery allowing enhanced delivery of studies
- Documents new processes and develops required training as part of the client curriculum; rolls out and implements new client specific processes to delivery teams
- Feedback to MDU head and management on operational areas that need support in day-to-day operations
- Maintains contact with IQVIA stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand new offerings and define opportunities in the field of innovation to add value to the alliance/ partnership
- Collaborates cross-functionally and across other account management internally as one IQVIA to learn the best practices in other alliances/ accounts to unlock the potential of innovation and enhance the client’s experience
- Loops in the input from innovation business development to client stakeholders & delivery teams whenever needed and guide on the customer defined requirements
- Works closely with the MDU and the client to identify opportunities to optimize clinical projects through innovative, bring value-adding solutions, keeping patient and country voice core in the global teams
Our Ideal Candidate
- Has an in-depth understanding of clinical development and Clinical Operations
- A degree in Life Science, Business Management or related field for that role is required
- Has ideally > 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, CRO, or related industry, including clinical operations, commercial and /or alternative operational functional (e.g., business development, data management, project management, laboratory, pre-clinical)
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Possesses the ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with senior management, peers, and customers
- Project and program delivery for all assigned key customer contracted work across Global Product Development, ensuring metrics and customer goals are achieved, consolidating resources, sharing best practices, achieving customer loyalty and Program Risk Management for customer portfolio
- Has excellent analytical/critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results to customer and company expectations
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Excellent matrix and cultural team leadership skills

- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong financial analysis skills; preferably thorough understanding of company margins, pricing strategies, and profitability measures
- Is accountable for the development and management against key customer rules of engagement and/or operational norms
- Supports the delivery against key metrics, milestones, and contractual obligations for a portfolio of projects to encompass expectation setting and management against quality, time, and financial objectives (e.g., project & portfolio margin targets)
- Directs the review of a customer pipeline, opportunities pending, and future customer needs in support of the quarterly development of resource forecasts for delivery to the cost centres providing resources to the designated customer account (e.g., project management, QLAB, Phase I, ECG, data management, clinical operations, biostatistics, etc.)
- Acts as the key relationship manager for designated customer
- Serves as the primary management holder for a designated customer escalation plan with recommended courses of action regarding client management issues
- Leads, oversees, and manage multiple project teams to ensure global customer best practices are adhered to by individuals assigned to projects for the designated customer account.
- Leads, oversees, and manage the enterprise to ensure the IQVIA transformational and business practices are adhered to by individuals assigned to projects for the designated customer account
- Brings Excellent communication, organisational skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
- Will perform other duties as assigned
