A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cell Leader to join a high-performing production team. The Cell Leader will play a key role in driving day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved in terms of Quality, Delivery and Cost. This is a hands-on leadership position, suited to someone with a strong mechanical assembly background and the drive to motivate and develop a skilled team.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support the team on the shop floor, maintaining workflow and motivating staff to meet daily targets.Ensure adherence to standard work practices, one-piece flow, and other lean manufacturing principles.Monitor and manage team performance, including attendance, work rate, and attitude.Act as a point of contact for resolving production issues, ensuring timely communication and problem-solving.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including CI, Kaizen, 5S, and engineering changes.Maintain and update visual management tools, standard work documentation, and training matrices.Oversee daily start-ups, machine setups, staffing levels, and material replenishment.Coordinate cross-training and maintain accurate AX system transactions.Essential Skills & Experience:Proven experience with high-level mechanical assembly.Strong leadership and coaching skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.High-level numeracy and confident using computer systems.Experience working in a fast-paced, low-volume, high-tolerance manufacturing environment.Desirable:Experience in a low-batch, precision workshop environment.HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.Personal Qualities:Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.Organised, methodical, and accurate under pressure.Motivational leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset.Committed, self-driven, and eager to contribute to business success.
