Your mission
As Senior Nuclear Engineer in our Radioactive Waste Management department, you will contribute to our mission every day by playing a crucial role in:
• Conducting and coordinating Engineering Studies in the field of Radioactive Waste Management and Decommissioning.
• Covering both the radioactive waste resulting from operations and from dismantling.
Your key responsibilities
• Knowledge of nuclear decommissioning processes in general, experience with the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant is an asset.
• Knowledge about the implementation of decommissioning concepts on site.
• Knowledge about cutting- and decontamination techniques.
• Knowledge about solid, liquid and gaseous radioactive waste types and treatment.
• Knowledge about treatment and conditioning of solid radioactive waste.
• Knowledge about the assessment, analysis and management of the decommissioning radioactive waste inventory.
• Knowledge about disposal concepts for different types of radioactive waste is an asset.
• Knowledge about waste packages for storage, transport, and/or disposal.
• Development of waste management and decommissioning strategies and related optioneering assessments.
• Verification of technical specifications, technical follow-up of contracts and commissioning of installations for the treatment and/or conditioning of radioactive waste.
• Verify the technical work performed by your peers.
• Actively engage in knowledge sharing with others.
• Coaching of young colleagues.
• Working in close relationship with the final Client and interact with Safety Authorities and the Radioactive Waste Management Agency.
• Embody the image and values of Tractebel and the ENGIE group (Ethics, QHSE,…) in all your contacts, both inside and outside the ENGIE group, and other external stakeholders.
We would love to hear from people with
• An experience of 10 years at least in the domain of the radioactive waste management or decommissioning.
• A Master's degree in Engineering / Sciences, chartership is an asset.
• Language: English, (passive) knowledge of French or Dutch is an asset.
• Knowledge of the UK Nuclear Ecosystem.
• Capable of producing and verifying high quality technical documents, regardless of the topic's complexity.
