About the role:

We are looking for a knowledgeable Engineering Trainer/Lecturer to develop and deliver qualification training programs at Levels 2 to 4. This opportunity is perfect for experienced lecturers or educators in the engineering field who wish to bring their teaching skills to a dynamic and professional training setting.

As an Engineering Trainer, you will leverage your teaching experience to assess training needs, develop tailored curricula, and conduct interactive sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of our customers. If you have a passion for education, a proven ability to communicate complex concepts effectively, and a desire to broaden your professional influence, we’d love to hear from you!

This role offers a full-time commitment of 5 days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely. Please note that there is a requirement to travel up to 2 days per month to deliver client training sessions. Travel expenses will be covered, and you’ll have the opportunity to connect with clients and deliver impactful training in person.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess training needs and develop curriculum to address skill gaps and development areas.
  2. Design and deliver engaging training sessions for engineers, both in-person and virtually.
  3. Develop training materials, including presentations, handouts, and online resources.
  4. Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure training content is accurate and up-to-date.
  5. Evaluate training effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
  6. Provide feedback and coaching to engineers to support their professional development.
  7. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in engineering training and development.

What we’ll need from you:

  1. An electrical or mechanical engineering qualification at Level 5 or above and/or demonstrable experience in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry.
  2. A desire to share knowledge and support the development of others, demonstrated through activities like mentoring, coaching, or informal teaching.
  3. A solid understanding of engineering principles and practices, with a willingness to continuously update and expand your expertise.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to individuals with varying levels of experience.
  5. Proven experience in lecturing and an ability to engage and motivate learners, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  6. An interest in instructional design and curriculum development, with the willingness to learn and develop these skills if not already acquired.
  7. A certification in training or teaching qualification is essential.
  8. Experience in the T&D industry related to operational, protection, or design engineering would be an advantage, but passion and potential are equally valued.

  1. Up to £55,000 basic salary p.a.
  2. Company performance bonus
  3. 25 days holiday + stats + 1 day extra after every 3 completed years, to a max of 30
