Senior Design Engineer – Job DescriptionPosition OverviewA leading construction and engineering company is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to be based in Watford. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design of complex engineering projects, providing technical leadership and ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Primarily Temporary works with some permanent works.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and engineering phases of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulationsDevelop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specificationsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, project managers, and contractorsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team membersConduct site visits and inspections to ensure design integrity and resolve any technical issuesParticipate in project planning, risk assessment, and value engineering exercisesEnsure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of safety and qualityStay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practicesEssential RequirementsBachelor\’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (Master\’s degree preferred)Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards chartershipProven experience in structural design engineering within the Civil Engineering industryStrong proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro)In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulationsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
