Job Description
Role: Gas Heating Engineer
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: 37 Hours Per Week – Flexible and agile working (by agreement) to cover the service 24 hours per day and 7 days a week
Worker Type: Off-site (Base location: Harvey Road, NG8 3BB)
Salary: Grade H – £39,513 – £42,708 per annum

About the Role
We are currently seeking suitably qualified and experienced Gas Heating Engineers to join our Property team within Nottingham City Council Housing Services, covering both tenanted and void properties. Are you someone who wants to be appreciated for their talent, skill, approach, and expertise as a Gas Heating Engineer? We are looking for that individual who is proud of what they do and how they do it. Not everyone has what is needed to work with customers in their homes but if you think that you have got the right combination of attitude and expertise, we want you to be part of our transformation.
About You
- Proven experience in all aspects of heating.
- Ability to undertake the accurate completion of any required installations, servicing, testing, works, and compliance certification, including the ability to cap/ disk supply, remove gas fires, carry out system tests and re commission boilers after void periods. You will also be required to ensure that legionella standards are adhered to.
- Proven experience in dealing with the provision of central heating including boilers, controls, gas fires, radiators, and tanks.
- Good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels with the ability to develop and present written or verbal information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders, such as contractors, and suppliers to achieve a common goal.
- Ability to remain self-motivated whilst effectively managing a diverse workload under pressure to meet specified targets and deadlines.
