Assistant Restaurant Manager 📍 1 Lombard Street | City of LondonWe are looking for an ambitious Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the leadership team at 1 Lombard Street, one of London’s most iconic independent restaurants. With over 120 weekly covers and a weekly turnover exceeding £120,000, this is a rare opportunity to be part of a dynamic operation at the heart of the Square Mile.As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving service excellence, developing our people, and delivering outstanding results—all while helping shape the future of a restaurant that prides itself on seasonality, artisan produce, and exceptional hospitality at mid-market prices.What you’ll be responsible for:Operations & Financial ManagementOversee Front of House operations during service, ensuring seamless guest experiences.Manage bar operations including ordering, stock control, cost management, and developing our bar offering.Maximise revenue opportunities across people, place, product, and promotions while maintaining integrity and standards.Deliver accurate end-of-shift reports, rota management, and daily sales tracking.Monitor guest and team feedback to continuously improve service and product delivery.People, Learning & DevelopmentLead, motivate, and inspire the Front of House team to deliver at the highest level.Provide structured training and tastings to build strong product knowledge.Conduct appraisals, mentor progression, and celebrate team achievements.Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.Drive a positive workplace culture rooted in professionalism, growth, and collaboration.Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure strict adherence to health, safety, and company policies.Lead daily opening/closing checks and contribute to in-house audits.Train and monitor the team on fire, emergency, and security procedures.Maintain the highest levels of safety and wellbeing for guests and staff.What we’re looking for:Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant.A natural leader with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach.Passion for hospitality, food, and drink, with an eye for detail.Organised, financially astute, and confident in operational management.Positive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.What we offer:The chance to grow your career within one of London’s most respected independent restaurants.A collaborative, supportive management team that celebrates achievement.Training, development, and the opportunity to shape the next chapter of 1 Lombard Street.If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and play a key role in one of London’s busiest and most ambitious restaurants, we’d love to hear from you.
