London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Clinical Skills and Simulation Assistant Technician within our Technical Support Services division (TSS).
This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to assist with the upkeep and preparation of several specialist teaching facilities in the Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratories. The area comprises of two Schools, the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Allied Health and Social Care.
The clinical skills and simulation labs are maintained by a dedicated team of technicians who support students and staff in the use of specialist equipment and related processes. The role involves set up and take downs in skills rooms and the movement of large equipment.
As an integral member of this team, you will assist the presentation and demonstration of key technologies, facilitate practical sessions, and play a key role in ensuring that the environments and technical equipment run smoothly.

About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- ND, HND or an equivalent in a healthcare related discipline, or professional experience of working in a technical support / commercial environment.
- Effectiveness as a problem solver, able to take on board unfamiliar information and apply it to the open-ended challenges frequently encountered in technical environments.
- Excellent communication with the ability to coherently convey technical information and demonstrate a considered approach to customer service.
The ideal candidate will have a qualification in a healthcare related discipline, be highly motivated and bring a team-centred approach. Experience with AR/VR is also highly desirable.
Please note that the successful candidate must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
