About the Role
This is a dynamic commercial role focused on driving new sales opportunities within our existing client base. As an SME Account Manager, you will be a trusted adviser, relationship builder, and problem solver, taking full ownership of your customers’ needs.
Your primary goal will be to identify and capitalise on revenue opportunities, driving account growth through a well-structured sales pipeline. To succeed, you’ll need exceptional sales acumen and account management skills, ensuring clients receive a seamless, high-quality business experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of client relationships and account performance, with a strong focus on up selling and cross-selling Addison Lee’s services to maximise value for both the client and the business.
Location
This role is based at our head office in Paddington (4 days in, 1 day work from home).
Reporting Lines
This role reports to the Head of Business Development.
Main Accountabilities
- Plan, prioritise and manage activities to achieve sales/revenue and retention targets.
- Develop, agree and implement sales development plans for a specific number of accounts to maximise profits.
- Maintain, develop and foster effective relationships and performance management across all relevant levels of account organisations.
- Ensure all account information such as contract data, spend and profitability are maintained.
- Ensure contracts are entered into and maintained in a timely and profitable manner.
- Develop client accounts for sales and profitability.
- Ensure upselling and cross-selling opportunities are developed by establishing a sound understanding of current and potential business needs.
- Ensure that client expectations are met, coordinating resolution of any escalation of service issues and system service failures.
Key Stakeholders
All client stakeholders – typically Travel Managers, Procurement Managers, Finance Directors, CSR/ESG leads etc. All employees and managers across the business, in particular; Client Services, Commercial Finance, Operations, Legal/Risk and Compliance.
Requirements
- The position will suit someone with a proven record of achievement gained within a client service management or a sales environment with an account development background.
- Self-starting with the drive to increase sales and profitability.
- Excellent relationship skills; the ability to interact at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative but also able to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation.
- Quick learner and able to rapidly grasp complex solutions/concepts.
- An ability to communicate, negotiate and influence effectively.
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload accordingly.
- Tenacious, resilient and able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver valuable outcomes to customers and their business.
- Experience within the Travel Industry is desirable but not essential.
