We are excited to share that we are currently seeking a Marine Risk Analyst to join our team at ABL Group. We are looking for someone with sufficient experience to manage and deliver projects independently. In this role, you will play a key part in driving growth within one of the Maritime Department’s strategic business lines.

What you will be doing:

As our Marine Risk Analyst , your expertise in marine risk analysis and your familiarity with vessel traffic data such as AIS will be crucial. You will leverage your mathematical and analytical skills to conduct marine traffic studies and quantitative navigational risk assessments for a wide range of projects in different stages of development. In addition, you will also:

  • Plan and conduct marine traffic assessments and navigational risk assessments.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and participate in bidding to win work, either directly or through other group companies.
  • Be actively involved in the development of business strategy, marketing, and implementation of the relevant business offering.
  • Assist with technical management and oversee the recruitment and development of staff to support the service line.
  • Handle client relations and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

This hybrid role, based in our London office, allows flexible work arrangements including remote work from home, office-based duties, and offshore/on-site tasks as coordinated with your manager. The candidate must have the right to work and reside in the UK.

What we are looking for:

To excel in this role, you will be inspired to apply your expertise in vessel traffic analysis and quantitative risk assessments, contributing to the growth of our Maritime Department. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and deliver impactful projects, using your experience to shape innovative solutions in marine risk management. In addition, you will have:

  • Solid understanding of maritime traffic and quantitative navigational risk assessments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience in planning and conducting marine traffic and risk assessments.
  • Proficient in Databases, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or coding skills for delivering and presenting work effectively.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
