About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Custody and Fund Accounting Project Manager to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh.

We are looking for an experienced Custody and Fund Accounting Manager with a minimum of five years’ experience of change in Investment Operations and Fund Administration in the context of Life and Pensions Funds. You will be someone who has strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders in a complex environment driving project successes.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the implementation of multiple complex projects at a fast pace, leveraging Agile principles when appropriate.
  2. Manage and coordinate complex project dependencies across teams and resources to ensure smooth execution.
  3. Navigate and manage challenging project constraints, including tight timescales, limited resources, and high volumes of change.
  4. Provide expert support across various Subject Matter Expert (SME) disciplines within a matrixed environment.
  5. Work with outsource providers to manage process and IT handoffs, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment.
  6. Lead the change and implementation of Operating Models to drive improvements.
  7. Oversee Go Live preparation, governance, and execution, ensuring all milestones are met.
  8. Develop and maintain detailed Run Books for operational processes and procedures.
  9. Support the ongoing management of IT infrastructure, applications, and data interfaces, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  10. Develop and maintain Business Cases to secure buy-in and funding for projects.
  11. Facilitate detailed planning workshops and various types of project workshops throughout the execution phase.
  12. Monitor, report on, and ensure successful project implementation, tracking the realization of project benefits.

About You

Requirements

  1. 5 years’ experience of change in Investment Operations and Fund Administration in the context of Life and Pensions funds.
  2. Understanding of agile methodology with certification including: Agile (Scrum, DSDM etc), structured delivery (Prince 2, MSP etc).
  3. Strong communication and influencing skills.
  4. Experience of successfully building multi-discipline teams.
  5. Demonstrable experience of vendor management.
  6. Proven ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and SMEs in complex environments to drive project success.
  7. Ability to provide support across a matrix spanning various SME (Subject Matter Expert) disciplines.
