Business Analyst – HR Data & Reporting
London – Hybrid
Overview:
A leading asset manager is seeking a data-focused Business Analyst with project management skills to drive the definition and delivery of data and reporting solutions.
This role will work closely with the Corporate Data Officer and key stakeholders to shape the strategic direction of workforce analytics, ensuring alignment with the firm’s technology strategy.
The ideal candidate will have experience defining data products, working with Snowflake or similar technologies, and managing data governance and reporting initiatives. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, as the role requires coordination across multiple teams, including project managers, data engineers, and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition and specification of data products on Snowflake, ensuring alignment with HR and workforce reporting needs.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Data Officer to shape the strategic data and reporting delivery framework.
- Ensure data governance principles and best practices from the firm’s GT Data Strategy are applied to reporting solutions.
- Define business and functional requirements for data products, working closely with data engineers and analytics teams.
- Support the design and development of HR data models and reporting structures within Snowflake.
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Oversee project management activities related to HR data and reporting initiatives, ensuring tasks are documented and tracked.
- Work alongside existing project managers to coordinate Global Technology (GT) workstreams, focusing on areas outside the scope of Oracle implementation partners.
- Facilitate collaboration on the future P&C Reporting Operating Model, ensuring efficient data processes and reporting workflows.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, including HR, IT, and data governance teams, to align business needs with data solutions.
Data Governance & Reporting
- Define and document HR reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring accurate and timely data insights.
- Work with data engineers to support data integration from Oracle systems into Snowflake for reporting and analysis.
- Ensure reporting structures comply with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
- Support the development of BI dashboards and analytics solutions by providing functional requirements.
Key Requirements:
Business & Data Analysis Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst, ideally within HR data, workforce analytics, or enterprise data strategy.
- Strong background in data governance, data modeling, and reporting within an enterprise environment.
- Ability to translate business requirements into data specifications and reporting frameworks.
- Experience working with HR systems, workforce analytics, or operational reporting is a plus.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of Snowflake as a data warehouse, including data structures, reporting capabilities, and integration principles.
- Basic SQL skills for querying and validating datasets (no hands-on data engineering required).
- Experience with Oracle systems would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines (no hands-on development required, but understanding data flow is key).
Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Experience managing data-driven projects in a structured environment, ensuring timely delivery and tracking of key initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership, data teams, and technology partners.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams, liaising between business users, IT, and data teams.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies is an advantage.
