Job title: Senior Procurement Policy and Performance Manager

The role:

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Procurement Policy and Performance Manager. As part of our drive toward a new Target Operating Model for procurement across the local authority, the Senior Procurement Policy and Performance Manager will lead an exciting new team that will be responsible for procurement related policy and the enablement of procurement and contract performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional to join us and help develop this new team. Whilst experience of working in a procurement policy or performance related role would be great, above all else we are looking for a driven and ambitious procurement professional with a desire to make a real difference.

Key responsibilities:

  • Authorising and communicating all procurement related policy updates and assessing their impact to senior management, members, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring policies align with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Owning and driving a programme of improvement in procurement processes and practices through changes to policy, performance management, and systems/technology.
  • Embedding and championing best practice within procurement, including Sustainable and Ethical Procurement and Social Value.
  • Developing and implementing performance measurement frameworks to evaluate procurement and contract management effectiveness.
