Part-Time Accountant

Our client is an accountancy firm who are based near Stirling and looking for a Part Time Accountant to work at c2 days per week but with an expectation that the time commitment will go up.

Responsibilities of the Part Time Accountant:

Take a Limited company set of draft accounts on cloud bookkeeping software /Xero/Quickbooks) and:

Review and correct any mis postings re balance sheet accounts and P&L and highlight any significant variances or strange balances

Calculate and enter yearend adjustments into the bookkeeping software re depreciation/accruals/WIP/corporation tax provision etc

Draft e-mail to client with attachments

produce draft

Statutory accounts

Corporation tax computation and CT600

Prepare Directors personal tax returns

Prepare the Management accounts

Put in required journals (e.g. accruals, prepayments, depreciation, WIP)

Take reports from software into excel

Brief but meaningful commentary and additional schedules re significant variances

Produce presentable financial information

The Candidate

Qualified or qualified by experience

Worked in practice for 5+ years

Works fast but accurately (aware of need to make recovery on work)

Familiar with accounts and tax software (ideally Iris) and cloud bookkeeping software (Xero/Quickbooks

Good Excel skills (basic formulae such as vlookup and = re working papers)

Has a challenging mind – flag something if doesn t look right

Good knowledge of UK tax re owner managed business

Happy to speak to client to clear basic queries

Please note this is a remote role but it would be beneficial for someone to be based in Scotland
