Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor
Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor – West Silvertown, East London (usually 3-4 days p/w on site, but with flexibility) – permanent – civil engineering/utilities project – £55k-£65k + car/car allowance, pension, travel and other benefits.
Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor required to provide support to a major construction project in the London Docklands area, a site of major regeneration. Providing professional SHEQ support to site teams, supply chain and contract partners, and our clients as required, ensuring that Group Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures are followed.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring company systems and processes are complied with via site inspections/audits.
- Monitoring the relevant areas of work for SHEQ compliance and bringing findings to the attention of the business Director and business SHEQ Manager.
- Implementing effective systems to further develop our positive health & safety culture.
- Advising and assisting our Project teams on SHEQ matters.
- Developing strong relationships locally with our clients.
- Ensuring accident and incident investigations are carried out, ensuring that all actions are followed up and completed.
- Liaising and coordinating with the Group SHEQ team as required to ensure consistency throughout the business.
- Attending/presenting at client SHEQ meetings/forums and communicating findings throughout the business area.
- Monitoring the control of contractors across our projects.
- Maintaining personal competence and professional development.
- Working in various parties from the central SHEQ team as needed to address specific issues.
- Taking an active part in the continual development of the SHEQ Management System.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Practical experience with delivering sites to exceed the requirements of CDM.
- Understanding and practical application of HSG47/Underground Utility Avoidance.
