Spectrum Geosurvey are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our growing team based in our Lymington office. Position OverviewAs a Senior Geophysicist, you will be predominantly responsible for leading a field team, acquiring geophysical data as well as assisting data processing and interpretation when in the office. It is a great opportunity to build on your skills and gain further exposure to a variety of interesting projects in the offshore renewable energy sector.Successful applicants shall have a strong background in geophysics and geology and should have a working knowledge of marine surveying. They will be a role model to more junior members of the team and will assist in their training. Supported by an experienced and committed team, successful candidates will be developing skill sets to carry out the following tasks within our growing company. Role Responsibilities Undertake fieldwork for extended periods of time away from home on projects onshore and offshoreLead offshore surveys in the field, with duties including maintaining effective communication with the office on operational data QC matters, as well as building strong relationships with client representativesProject manage survey projects where necessaryAssist in leading data acquisition, maintain accurate records and assist in maintaining quality and consistency of field data, data processing, deliverable creation, and data management.Assist Processing and Reporting managers with reporting, charting & data managementLiaise with clients and organisations throughout the lifecycle of projects where necessarySupport Project Managers in project technical mattersTake ownership of data archive and data repository management, ensuring safe storage of a large variety of data formats.Lead mobilisations, calibrations and equipment verificationsBe a technical authority on geophysical survey equipment and softwareContinual training/development of junior staff and maintaining and updating training/procedural materialAdhere to and develop company QHSE standards. The Senior Geophysicist should be set an example when it comes to safe working practices.Support and maintain QHSE standards, including relevant documentationImplementing best practices for handling, maintaining and storing survey equipment as per manufacturer\’s instructions or company guidanceTake ownership of notifying software manufacturers of any bugs and assist with implementing solutionsGuide, manage and be a role model and more junior members of the team, assisting in development of procedures and their training.Show a high level of leadership amongst the teamIdentification, investigation and troubleshooting inconsistencies in data, ensuring that it complies with the project scope of workAssist with data processing when back in the office.
