Job Title : Technical Building Services Manager, London, Interim Reference: 412 Summary of the Technical Building Services Manager role: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Building Services Manager to oversee the maintenance and operation of building services systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems, ensuring that all building services meet compliance standards, operate efficiently, and contribute to the overall sustainability and safety of the facility. Technical Building Services Manager Deliverables / Outcomes (include but are not limited to): Facilities & Building Services Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of M&E systems; Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC); lighting; fire protection; and security systems. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, including statutory inspections and certifications. Implement and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programs. Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) to optimise building performance and energy efficiency. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system faults and failures. Project & Compliance Management: Manage capital improvement projects, refurbishments, and system upgrades. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and energy efficiency regulations. Conduct risk assessments and audits, and ensure adherence to HSE policies. Work with external contractors, engineers, and consultants to oversee project execution. Supervise in-house maintenance teams and coordinate with external service providers. Manage contracts, procurement, and performance of third-party vendors. Provide technical guidance and training to staff on new technologies and industry best practices. Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage facility operations and maintenance budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through energy management and operational efficiencies. Ensure cost-effective procurement of spare parts, equipment, and services. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed: Extensive experience in technical facilities management, M&E systems, and maintenance operations. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire safety, and energy management systems. Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems), Smart Building Technologies, and sustainability initiatives. Ability to manage projects, budgets, compliance, and multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience in commercial, industrial, or healthcare facilities.
