Lead Data Architect

Job Title: Data Architect (Snowflake / Data Vault 2.0)Contract: 6 monthsRate: £600–£850 per day (Outside IR35)Location: Remote (UK-based)Start Date: ASAPThe RoleWe’re seeking an experienced Data Architect / Consultant to provide architectural guidance and best-practice advisory services on a modern Azure + Snowflake data platform.This is a non-build engagement: the in-house team delivers the implementation — your role is to ensure best practice, long-term scalability, and knowledge transfer.Key Focus AreasData Vault Design & Architecture – validate designs, advise on Hubs, Links, Satellites, PIT & Bridge tables.dbt Best Practice – project structure, macros, testing conventions, integration with Snowflake features.Orchestration & CI/CD – guidance on ADF/GetOrchestra and Azure DevOps pipelines.Data Quality & Governance – automated testing, naming conventions, metadata management, role-based access.Responsibility Validated Data Vault architecture blueprint.dbt project template with best practices.Governance and standards documentation.Recommendations report on orchestration and CI/CD.Final knowledge transfer workshop.RequirementsProven experience as a Data Architect / Snowflake Architect / Data Vault Consultant.Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Data Vault 2.0, dbt, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.Expertise in governance, testing, and metadata standards.Strong communicator with stakeholder-facing experience.
