This is a varied role involving drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements. You will also be advising and assisting the business on a wide range of other legal matters.

The client is Berkshire based but would offer flexibility with regards to hybrid working. The successful candidate would spend some time in the first 1-3 months in Berkshire (costs to be covered by the Company). After this period, the individual would work on a hybrid basis in their Southampton office.

The key to the role will be dealing with the day-to-day legal matters faced by the business. A candidate with a strong career track record to date with skills and experience in commercial contracts law is required.

The successful candidate will be dealing with a wide range of legal issues including:

  1. Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and agreements
  2. Assisting and helping the business on a wide range of other legal matters
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate legal issues in a business-friendly way and influence key stakeholders
  4. Able to effectively manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations
  5. A UK qualified solicitor with strong academics ranging from 2 to 4 years PQE

In-house experience would be desirable, but the client would consider a private practice lawyer looking to move in-house who could point to good business and commercial skills.

Our client envisages that candidates with between 2 – 4 years PQE will have the relevant skills/knowledge for this position; however, this has been given as an approximate guide for applicants, and our client is happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this PQE range but who have the relevant experience.
