Overview of the role:

The Head of Procurement will report to the Bruntwood Board and is accountable for the delivery of procurement services under the Master Services Agreement to other Bruntwood Group companies. Procurement and contract management at Bruntwood is currently conducted across the business in different ways – therefore this will be an exciting opportunity to impactfully influence Procurement through existing resources and a new team, led by your input and assessment.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in implementing Procurement processes from inception at other organisations. For context, we employ over 850 colleagues across 5 different locations , Union in Manchester being our head office location.
  • A track record of establishing, creating and developing professional Procurement and Contract management teams . You’ll have existing colleagues in the business to support, however ultimately you’ll have the opportunity to create, shape and develop your own team to deliver on Procurement needs.
  • A commitment to sustainable Procurement and Contract management and an understanding of how the ‘Bruntwood Supplier Charter’ can be embedded across internal & external stakeholders, and across Supply Chain.
  • The ability to work with a complex stakeholder structure (two boards), managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships effectively to drive efficiencies and processes forwards.
  • A current member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain contracts centrally, ensuring suitable suppliers are sourced and the most cost-effective contracts are entered into.
  • Implement centralisation of our procurement processes where needed.
  • Work with us on system improvements to view, maintain and report on all of our supplier, contract, PO and invoice data.
  • Implement a consistent approach to supplier and contract management across all areas of the business.
  • Roll out a Supplier Charter that sets out the behaviours and practices we expect of our suppliers.
  • Manage stakeholders in a complex structure to ensure communication channels are clear and processes are well aligned.

The process:

  • The role will be advertised from Thursday 13th February – Friday 14th March .
  • We’ll shortlist between Monday 17th March – Wednesday 19th March .
  • If successful on progressing to the 1st interview stage, you’ll then get a call from Christian in our Recruitment team over Thursday 20th March – Friday 21st March to discuss the role further and to arrange an interview between Monday 24th – Friday 28th March . You’ll receive an update by email if you have unfortunately not been selected for interview.
  • If successful at the 1st interview stage, we’ll then arrange a final stage interview, ideally between Monday 31st March – Friday 4th April .

We’ll then have a decision by the close of the following week .
