Are you passionate about supporting students’ social, emotional and mental health? Looking to gain some experience and develop your understanding further? Wanting to grow your career into social working, Safeguarding roles, SENCO, mental health assistance / support roles? This could be the perfect stepping stone for you!

As a SEMH Teaching assistant you will be working within schools to support student’s emotional regulation and mental health. This could include creating coping mechanisms while completing work / learning or supporting the student to create methods of de-escalation. You will be creating a toolbox with the student to help them learn methods of coping and control over their emotions and feelings.

This school is highly accommodating an understanding of the child’s needs and is looking for someone who can support the child with their education and learning, mental health and well-being, socialisation and emotional regulation both inside and outside of the classroom.

Within this role it is important that you are resilient, patient, understanding and approachable for you to be supportive to the child. It is vital you have an understanding of safeguarding and understand that any concerns need to be reported correctly for the best interest of the child.

  • £450-£500 per week full time permanent position- Part time hours also considered for the right candidate
