Job Summary:
The SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development will be responsible for leading the company\’s strategic direction and corporate development. This role will lead high-priority, high-impact projects across the organization, partnering with scientific and business leaders to drive corporate strategy, pipeline strategy, board engagement, investor engagement, and business development. The successful candidate will have scientific acumen, think and act strategically, be deeply collaborative, an outstanding communicator, and will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with other members of the executive team and cross-functional to shape and execute the company\’s overall strategy, inclusive of corporate strategy, portfolio strategy, and individual product strategies.
- Drive engagement with existing/future investors, establishing relationships, communicating the company vision, and lead Quotient’s fundraising strategy, planning, and execution.
- Manage Quotient’s Board – driving the meeting agenda, contributing major chapters as needed, and organizing the overall operations of our board.
- Drive business development at Quotient – helping to form productive, lasting, and mutually beneficial partnerships with other companies.
- Develop and refine the company’s external-facing content, including major presentations, announcements, and our website.
- Lead a small team of high achievers, focused on Corporate Development, Business Development, and strategy.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with teams such as R&D, operations, finance, and legal; rapidly establish credibility, trust, and respect across the organization to operate as the voice of strategic thinking in the company.
- Lead with authenticity and a sense of urgency that inspires the team to communicate openly and thrive together.
Qualifications and Skills
- BS or related degree in life sciences required and PhD beneficial; Prior experience in Target Discovery and/or genetics will be viewed favorably.
- 10+ Years of experience in Corporate Development within the life sciences industry (Startup/Biotech experience will be viewed favorably) with proven track record of successful fundraises and partnership transactions.
- Proven track record of building and executing against company-wide strategies & delivering upon major/complex initiatives.
- Ability to communicate credibly, strategically, and clearly (in prose, slides, and verbally) with a broad range of stakeholders: Board, Partners, Investors, Internally, KOLs, and the Public.
- Results-driven, high-performer with a highly collaborative style; able to influence and build consensus across all levels of the organization.
- Highly self-motivated with demonstrated agility to multitask, manage time, handle uncertainty, and work under pressure with limited oversight.
- Able to balance the importance of understanding the big picture with attention to the small details that matter.
