Job Description:

CAN, part of the RSK Group is looking for a Yard & Warehouse Equipment Specialist to join their team in Chesterfield. This is a full-time permanent role.

Basic hours are 8:00am until 4:30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours a week). Reporting to the Stores Manager, the main purpose of the role is to inspect, test & maintain equipment that is used throughout the Company. Book out equipment via our system to upcoming & ongoing jobs, once the project is finished, we then inspect, test & book in the returned kit ready for the next job. This role will also include the need to occasionally attend CAN work sites to inspect & test rope access & lifting equipment.

The Role:

  • Assistance with goods in & out; checking certification of equipment; checking of returned equipment including maintenance; inspections & repair, varying from power tools to rope access equipment & much more.
  • Load & unload wagons by using fork truck or telescopic handler.
  • Emptying finished projects from vehicle & containers.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Fork truck licence (preferred).
  • Good/basic IT knowledge (preferred).
  • Other than previously stated, none specifically required as training will be given once employment has commenced, however, previous yard & warehouse work experience would be advantageous along with good knowledge of hand & power tools, rope access, lifting equipment, PPE, pneumatic & hand-held geo kit (chainsaws, hedge cutters etc…).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work as part of a team and alone using their own initiative.
  • Flexible, keen to embrace new training opportunities, which may on occasion require staying away.
