This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled design engineer with a background in precision engineering, looking to develop their career in a dynamic and highly technical environment.
Job Description:
As a Mechanical Technical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of precision-engineered components. Working primarily with AutoCAD and Inventor, you will produce technical drawings, detailed specifications, and design layouts for manufacturing teams. You will also support production by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting design issues. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a precision engineering environment and is looking for career progression in a specialist field.
Key Responsibilities:
- 2D CAD Design (90%) – Creating technical drawings using AutoCAD for precision-engineered components.
- 3D CAD Modelling (10%) – Producing 3D designs in Inventor where required.
- Technical Documentation – Producing detailed specifications and layouts for manufacturing teams.
- Design Problem-Solving – Investigating technical issues and supporting root cause analysis to improve designs.
- Production & Engineering Support – Assisting with technical queries to ensure seamless production and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements:
- Design & Project Management Experience – Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role, ideally in precision engineering.
- Technical Software Skills – Experience with AutoCAD & Inventor.
- Strong Communication & Collaboration – Ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving & Initiative – Ability to work independently and within a team to resolve design and production challenges.
