Business Fives is looking to hire a driven, relationship focussed Business Development Manager. Specialising in corporate charity sports event management, Business Fives has carved out a reputation as a socially responsible business with charity at the heart of our company ethos having raised over one million pounds for charity to date. Running successful corporate football, golf, mixed touch rugby and esports events across the country, the role would be ideally suited to someone looking to combine sports passions with business development.

Whilst the nature of the role involves working in a fast-paced professional environment, our team has a lot of fun creating the events we love, especially when we are on site or travelling across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
The successful Business Development Manager (BDM) will become an integral part of the team. We are looking for personable and natural communicators who thrive in live events, are comfortable with public speaking and travelling with work. The successful candidate will have a firm grasp on the relationship between marketing and sales, and ideally have an established professional network. Business Fives is looking for a focussed individual with a growth mindset and a natural ability to identify new business opportunities across the events, sponsorship, and consultancy revenue portfolio.
The company has ambitious and exciting growth plans to expand our reach beyond current geographic markets of England, Scotland and Ireland, identifying our Sponsorship, Business Sevens and Business Fours brands as high growth areas. The company is based in Edinburgh but remote applicants will be considered for the role to join a team that predominantly work from home when we are not delivering events. You will join a small yet successful team in researching, sourcing and contacting a large number of prospects to introduce them to a brand that has developed a reputation as a trusted charity events platform as well as inheriting a large stellar bank of current clients.
The successful BDM will be responsible for developing a pipeline of sales leads, whilst working alongside colleagues to create new opportunities for growth. This role requires a positive energetic outlook and would be ideal for an individual with lots of self-motivation and resilience to successfully carry out the following responsibilities:
- Commitment to providing a high level of client satisfaction at all times
- Excellent communication skills
- Have a consultative sales approach providing a high level of customer service at all times
- Work closely with colleagues to design marketing materials and launch campaigns
- Content generation for website, press releases, industry news and online campaigns
- Implement coordinated social media and marketing campaigns
- Liaise with key strategic industry partners to increase our market presence
- Attend external events to network with fellow professionals
- Engage with decision makers across all business sectors
- Implement multi-channel Sales and Marketing campaigns
- Assist with logistics and event management
- Source and secure sponsorship
- Carry out administrative tasks such as maintaining & updating customer databases
- Constantly identify new business opportunities

This role can be working remotely from home. This is a full-time role with normal hours 9am – 5pm with regular periods of increased working pressure due to the nature of the business. This role offers a starting salary of £24-28k with annual reviews and performance-based increases (with a realistic OTE of £35-£45k) due to the competitive commission structure.
