We are recruiting for a Second Chef for our client in the Darwen area. As the Chef, you will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals for residents within the 80-bed establishment, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene. You will manage bulk cooking, cater to a variety of dietary needs, and oversee ordering and stock management when required., * Prepare and cook high-quality, fresh meals for residents, adhering to dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, soft foods, diabetic diets)

Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and suitable for older adults

Bulk cooking of meals for up to 80 residents, ensuring food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner

Manage the kitchen team and maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Oversee stock management, including ordering supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels, and minimising waste

Maintain kitchen health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations

Work collaboratively with care staff to meet the needs of residents, including catering to special requests

Previous experience as a Chef, ideally in a care home or healthcare setting

Strong understanding of dietary needs, particularly for older adults

Proven experience with bulk cooking and menu planning

Experience in food ordering and stock management

Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations (Food Safety Level 2 or higher)

Ability to work as part of a team, managing kitchen assistants
