What you\’ll do and what we offer

Aptitude Software, a leader in finance data management solutions, is on the lookout for a Sales Engineer to support our global Go to Market Team. Located in London or Manchester, you’ll play a key role in helping Aptitude deliver cutting edge financial technology to our clients. Our focus is on delivering finance solutions for the Office of the CFO, addressing the unique challenges and requirements of our clients as a best of breed vendor. We work with industry leading partners to wow our clients.

We are looking for a self-motivated Sales Engineer who wants to operate on the front line of a sales organisation, working directly with and presenting to prospects and partners.

The perfect candidate will bridge technical skills and commercial acumen – able to build customised demos and Proof of Concepts that align with the needs of our clients and partners. A thirst for learning is key to success, with the candidate driven to develop use cases, understand the market dynamics and eager to immerse themselves into the world of Finance Transformation.

As a key member of our EMEA Solution Consulting team, you will:

  1. Lead and support the crafting of tailored demonstrations of our solutions, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of prospective and current clients.
  2. Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Aptitude technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  3. Facilitate and actively participate in client workshops, contributing to the collaborative effort of understanding and identifying how Aptitude’s solutions solve client challenges.
  4. Integrate Aptitude’s software with complementary vendors to demonstrate our ability to work with our client’s other vendors.
  5. Build 1:1 relationship with key stakeholders to influence the opportunity.
  6. Drive Best Practice both within the Region and Globally building on your experience in other organisations.
  7. Complete thorough responses to client RFPs and RFIs and other requests for information.
  8. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Aptitude’s products and marketing.
  9. Support the Regional Team in Achieving Annual Recurring Revenue Targets.
  10. Travel regionally and domestically, seizing opportunities to engage clients face-to-face and collaborate closely with our Sales team in London.

What we\’re looking for

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys solving complex problems, and is keen on making a significant impact in a revenue-generating role. You will have:

  1. Technical skills – hands on experience with Python, REST APIs and ETL tooling.
  2. Ideally experience with Microsoft Power BI and Dynamics 365.
  3. Experience or interest in the Finance space either as:
  1. A Sales Engineer in a Finance Technology Company.
  2. Experience within a Big 4 accounting firm.
  3. Demonstrable-industry experience in finance transformation, finance systems, finance operations, or finance data.
  • A good understanding of systems landscape or an Enterprise business, with a focus on the Finance stack.
  • Ability to work with prospects to interpret their accounting requirements and develop designs and configure our solutions for demonstrations and POCs.
  • Be able to articulate and visualise complex challenges simply with a focus on the value.
  • Confidence in asking challenging questions and ability to think on your feet to address client concerns.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and effectively conveying critical information to all stakeholders.
  • A knack for understanding client objectives, translating challenges into actionable and logical requirements, especially when developing Proofs of Concept.
  • Highly intelligent, creative and innovative, but with the discipline and hands on approach and personal drive to achieve practical results.
  • Creativity in designing practical solutions that highlight the best practices based on our products and capabilities.
  • Commercial acumen to aid in RFP and RFI processes and a passion for driving tangible results.
  • A commitment to continuous personal and professional growth, keeping pace with the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
