We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Design System Manager to oversee the development, maintenance, and evolution of our Figma-based design system for our financial trading application. This is a critical role that ensures consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all design and development efforts, creating a seamless experience for both our users and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and review our existing design system with the intent of bringing it up to best practice.
  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and governance of a robust Figma-based design system, including components, patterns, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and developers to ensure the design system meets the needs of the product while maintaining consistency across the application.
  • Build and manage reusable components that adhere to accessibility standards and are optimized for scalability.
  • Establish and enforce design system guidelines, principles, and best practices across the organization.
  • Continuously audit and improve the design system to adapt to evolving product and user needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to onboard team members and promote adoption of the design system.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for design system-related queries and requests, ensuring smooth communication between design, product, and engineering teams.
  • Stay updated on Figma features, design system trends, and industry best practices to continuously enhance the design system.
  • Define and document processes around the design system and components.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Figma, including creating, managing, and optimizing complex design systems.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, UX/UI best practices, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in fintech or a similarly complex domain.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, bridging the gap between design and development.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) to understand developer needs and constraints.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Experience with project management tools including Jira and Confluence.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with other design tools and platforms, such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or ProtoPie.
  • Knowledge of financial trading systems or applications.
