Job purpose
As part of Group Security, the Group Security Architecture team is responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining Security Architecture design patterns and reference architectures
- Developing Architecture standards, guidance and keeping these up to date
- Delivering Security Architecture Baselines for the Liberty Global organisation
- Working with the other Liberty Global architecture teams such as those in Network, IT, Shared Services, Entertainment and Connectivity domains to jointly establish architectures and designs which meet baseline security requirements and standards
- Developing Liberty Global’s technical security strategy and driving its realisation
- Providing security architecture and design assurance for all programmes and projects, ensuring appropriate identification, management and mitigations of any security risks
You will be assuring the team delivers against the responsibilities above through collaboration with the internal Global Security teams, Liberty Global departments and business units, and the various OpCos and JVs across the countries in which they may operate. The ultimate objective is to provide assurance that our information and systems are safe and secure by ensuring the company is operating in line with security, compliance, and regulatory requirements, resulting in architectures and solutions that reduce technical security risks and minimise security vulnerabilities.
A key focus here is to serve as an ambassador for security design best practices and providing security architecture and design consulting as required. The Global Security Architect is also responsible for the day-to-day management of demand and activities, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised and progress is reported against. The role is expected to promote the quality of team outcomes through peer reviews and also serve as a mentor and encourage the personal development of other team members.
Key accountabilities
- Accountable for creating and maintaining Architecture design patterns and reference architectures
- Accountable for the development Architecture Standards and ensuring they are kept up to date
- Assure applicability and delivery of Security Architecture baselines
- Initiate and maintain relationships with architecture teams across Liberty Global in order to jointly establish secure architectures and designs
- Develop and drive the realisation of the Liberty Global technical security strategy
- Structure, plan and deliver architectural design reviews for new Cloud and On-Premise solutions, and any related products and services, to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigations
- Responsible for monitoring and driving security compliance during project lifecycles
- Delivering the technical security aspects to support plan, design and build for projects
- Engage across multiple functions to support and drive the modernisation of cyber security
- Engage and work with key stakeholders to develop and drive adoption of Security Policies, Standards, Principles, and a sustainable security strategy for all future solution deployments.
- Ensure accurate delivery progress reporting for the team is completed and communicated to relevant stakeholders
Essential skills & abilities:
- Proven experience in Security Architecture or similar team(s)
- Extensive experience in technical security controls, cloud infrastructures and application security.
- Experience with Security Architecture Frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO27001, SABSA and TOGAF
- Further Experienced in:
- Identifying security flaws in solutions through threat modelling, architectural assessments and design reviews
- Identity and Access Management, Data Leakage Prevention, Network and Infrastructure Security
- Cryptography, Encryption and Key Management, Secrets Management, TLS, IPSec, Ciphers, X509
- Application Security Design, DevSecOps, Agile practices, Shift Left concepts and automation
- Cloud security design and assurance including experience of AWS, GCP, Azure and OCI platforms
- Development of foundational Security Architectures and Designs, Security Baselines, Standards and Whitepapers.

Preferred education / qualifications:

- CISSP, SABSA, CCSP, OSCP, SANS/GIAC or equivalent accreditation
- Certification in one or more cloud vendor offerings such as AWS, GCP, Azure and OCI
